11 Dreamy Valentine’s Spa Breaks in Europe for 2026
1. AIRE Ancient Baths, Seville – Spain
Why couples love this spa: candlelit baths, intimate and unique (without lots of crowds).
If you’re looking for a unique spa break in the centre of a beautiful European city, then head to AIRE Ancient Baths in Seville. Not only is Seville one of my favourite city’s on earth, it is also home to a candle-lit underground spa that I’ve visited twice before. Tucked away in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, AIRE Seville is set inside a 16th century Mudejar style palace-house. There are a number of different pools to try, including a salt pool (Floatarium), warm, hot, and cold baths and a Thousand Jets Bath.
All of the baths are surrounded by stunning Moorish tiles and candle light and feel less like a spa and more like someone’s private palace. You can also book treatments at AIRE Seville; I enjoyed a back massage during my second trip there and it really added to this very special experience.

To top of your time at AIRE Ancient Baths, Seville, there’s also a rooftop pool and terrace which is beyond dreamy at the end of the day, complete with a Moroccan green tea over looking the city.
To book, you will need to select from a number of different ‘experiences‘ (packages) and they do currently have a Valentine’s Day experience on at the moment.
Obviously, you can’t stay at the spa but I think that’s what makes it so great. You get to base yourself in the centre of Seville and enjoy all that this beautiful city has to offer, as well as escaping the world for a day at AIRE Seville.

2. AIRE Ancient Baths, Barcelona – Spain
Why couples love this spa: candlelit baths, intimate and unique (without the crowds) – much bigger than Seville’s baths.
AIRE Ancient Baths have branched out into a number of other cities since first launching in Seville and you can also find them in Barcelona.
I think Barcelona is such a romantic yet fun city and it’s the perfect place for a Valentine’s spa break weekend. The AIRE Ancient Baths, Barcelona can be found in an 18th century building next to Born Market. Again, I would turn this into a romantic city break rather than just a visit to the Baths. Why not extend the weekend to dine on delicious sea food, explore the incredible architecture style of Gaudí throughout the city and, of course, visit the enchanting Sagrada Família.

Like the Baths in Seville, the AIRE Ancient Baths in Barcelona offer a number of ‘experiences’ as well as purely having access to the many pools. The pools are the same as Seville, including a Floatarium (salt bath), cold, warm and hot pools, jet pools and a steam room.
3. Sky Lagoon, Reykjavik – Iceland
Why couples love this spa: completely unique, with awe-inspiring surroundings (we recommend heading there for sunset!)
Next on my list for Valentine’s spa breaks in Europe is something a little chillier.
Indeed, you may have a warm heart this Valentine’s Day but why not try an icy Valentine’s Spa Break in Reykjavik, Iceland? You’ve probably heard of the Blue Lagoon in Iceland but if you’re looking for an easy city break, complete with a spa experience, head to the Sky Lagoon instead.

Located just 10 minutes from the city centre, the Sky Lagoon offers a dreamy infinity pool out over the sea, a swim up bar and a ‘ritual’ experience that will take you through different hot and cold experiences. There’s also two different dining options, with one restaurant offering excellent local dishes.

Unlike the Blue Lagoon, the Sky Lagoon doesn’t offer accommodation on site, but like Seville, I think this is actually a positive. Reykjavik was such an unexpected, brilliant city break and we highly recommend spending some time exploring the city whilst there.

4. Terme di Saturnia, Tuscany – Italy
Terme di Saturnia has been on my wish list for years, ever since I got married in Tuscany. Terme di Saturnia was built around 3,000 year-old natural thermal waters and is another level up when it comes to your average spa break.

Indeed, Terme di Saturnia is more than a massage and a quick dip in a hot tub, offering a ‘pure rebirth,’ surrounded by 120 acres of rolling Tuscan hills.
5. Corinthia Royal Spa, Budapest – Hungary
Why couples love it: luxury hotel and spa experience in the heart of Budapest.
Budapest is another of my favourite cities, in part due to all of the thermal baths readily available throughout the city. If you really want to push the boat out, however, then book into the Corinthia Budapest for one of the most romantic spa experiences in Europe.

The Royal Spa at the Corinthia in Budapest was initially opened in the 19th century and was part of the city’s golden age of bath culture. The spa has been lovingly restored to its full Art Deco grandeur and now boasts a 15-metre swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam bath, a Finnish sauna and relaxation areas. You can also book to enjoy spa treatments, such as massages, body scrubs and facials.
If you’re looking for a real luxury spa experience, whilst staying in a first-class hotel then the Corinthia Royal Spa in Budapest is one for your list.
6. Aqua Dome, Tyrol – Austria
If you’re looking for a Valentine’s spa break that adds in fresh air and general wellness, then take a look at the Aqua Dome in Austria. This is on my bucket list for my 40th birthday in September and I am absolutely desperate to visit.

Even in winter, the Aqua Dome, located in the Tyrolean Alps in Längenfeld, Ötztal Valley is absolutely beautiful and incredibly romantic. Surrounded by snow, the thermal bath and hotel complex is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
With the Alps surrounding you, visitors can enjoy the 40 degree, rich thermal waters that are drawn up from deep underground, as well as 12 indoor and outdoor pools, floating basins and flow pools. There’s even a ‘Sauna World’ boasting 7 saunas, with many offering panoramic views out over the mountains.
Dreamy, hey.
This really is the ideal Valentine’s Spa weekend in Europe if you want to bed down in a 4* luxury hotel, complete with thermal waters, treatment options and plenty of lazy, long meals in the hotel.
7. Bürgenstock Alpine Spa, Lake Lucerne – Switzerland
Why couples love this spa: luxury, incredible views and more unique spa experiences than you average spa
Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa sits high above Lake Lucerne and honestly, the views do a lot of the talking. Set within the Bürgenstock Resort, the spa feels completely wrapped into the landscape, with huge glass walls and outdoor pools that make it feel like you’re floating above the lake and mountains. The standout is the heated infinity pool, which spills straight into the scenery. There’s also plenty more to explore to do, such as steam rooms, saunas, Kneipp baths, ice rooms and quiet spaces designed for slowing down and switching off.

8. Six Senses Douro Valley, Portugal
Why couples love this spa: traditional luxury hotel and spa, with active excursions available to explore more of the area.
Six Senses Douro Valley feels like the kind of place that encourages you to slow right down. Set in a restored 19th-century manor overlooking the rolling vineyards and river of Portugal’s Douro Valley, days revolve around wandering the gardens, eating seasonally and enjoying the spa offerings, such as its indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms and treatments inspired by regional ingredients like grapes and citrus. There’s yoga, gentle hikes and river cruises if you want to be active too.
If you want to add more to this trip, we highly recommend visiting Porto, which is an incredible city to explore after a few days of recharging at Six Senses.

9. SHA Wellness Clinic, Costa Blanca – Spain
Why couples love this spa: those looking for personalised health programmes with some medical science thrown behind it (think spa, but more academic).
If this Valentine’s Day you’re looking for a more ‘serious’ spa experience with your loved one, which will set you on the right health path in 2026, then look no further than SHA Wellness Clinic in Costa Blanca, Spain.
On arrival, you’ll receive medical assessments and set health goals before being let loose on the extensive offerings of the spa, including a hydrotherapy circuit, indoor and outdoor pools, 80 treatment rooms and daily movement classes. Nutrition is also a big focus, and you’ll be fed a gourmet macrobiotic cuisine that’s designed to support wellbeing goals.

10. Cağaloğlu Hamam, Istanbul – Turkey
Why couples love this Bath House: traditional, authentic and steeped in history
Next on my list for Valentine’s spa breaks in Europe is something a little different.
We visited Cağaloğlu Hamam during our stay in Istanbul to experience a traditional hamam and it was INCREDIBLE. In fact, it’s one of those experiences that I still fantasise about daily – I’ve truly never felt so clean.
Cağaloğlu Hamam is one of Istanbul’s most celebrated, traditional Bath Houses (Hamams) and was built in 1741 during the Ottoman empire. There are a number of packages that you can opt for; we just went with the more basic hamam experience (which was great in itself) but you can really push the boat out if you want to, including massages, scrubs and hot baths.

As this isn’t a spa hotel, you will need to book somewhere else in the city but you won’t be short on options. Istanbul is a huge, cosmopolitan city with some many romantic hotels to pair with your Valentine’s spa break.

11. La Mamounia, Marrakech – Morocco
Why couples love this spa: ultimate luxury, intimate and authentic.
OK, this may not be Europe but as it’s only a 3 hour flight from the UK, I think including this incredible spa should be allowed on my list of the ultimate Valentine’s spa breaks in Europe. Indeed, Marrakech often passes under the radar when it comes to ideas about a romantic trip but it is well worth the travel.
Marrakech is one of my most favourite cities in the world and for a romantic spa break, there’s no where better to base yourself than the iconic La Mamounia.
Set just inside the ancient city walls, this palace blends Moroccan craftsmanship with Art Deco elegance and is surrounded by eight acres of lush gardens originally gifted in the 18th century.

La Mamounia offers a world-class spa inspired by traditional hammams, acclaimed restaurants ranging from Moroccan fine dining to Italian and Asian cuisine, and terraces that glow at sunset with views of the Atlas Mountains. Despite its size, it manages to retain a feeling of intimacy and calm, away from the hustle and bustle of the colourful souks and Medina Square (although you must visit these too!)
