If you’re anything like me, there’s nothing that fills you with more dread than shopping for jeans.
An ordeal that most women choose to avoid, I was unfortunately faced with this very challenge after a long summer filled with (too many )ice creams. To make things less traumatic, I decided to call upon our faithful Instagram community, asking for their suggestions for the best jeans for women in their thirties.
Thankfully – and true to form – they delivered, making the whole process far more bearable. To help remove some of the sweat and tears of the annual jeans shop, I’ve therefore decided to share the love with 20 of the most popular suggestions of the best jeans for women in 2025.
1. High Waisted Barrel Jeans (£35.99)
On my annual pilgrimage to buy some new jeans for autumn, I was determined not to default to my usual ‘Mom’ style. After scouring the shops, I came across the Mango High Waisted Barrel Jeans.
They are incredibly flattering on the bum and I like how the barrel leg is quite subtle. Sizing wise, I think they’re pretty true to size – I am a size 10 and they fit perfectly.
2. Joules Mid Blue Straight Fit Jeans – £59.95
The second pair of best jeans for women in 2025 are the Joules Mid Blue Straight Fit Jeans.
Simple, high-waisted and in a ‘Mom’ style (I know, I can’t resist them), these will be my go-to, day-to-day jeans for autumn 2025. They are more expensive than I’d usually pay for a pair of jeans, but they are incredibly soft and well-fitting, so I’m happy to invest.
3. M&S The Mom Jeans – £39.50
I’ve been wearing the M&S ‘Mom’ jeans for a few years now and they are my trusty, comfy jeans that seem to last and keep their shape.
I think the sizing can come up a little big at M&S, so I’d advise you try on a few pairs before committing. I usually wait to buy my jeans from M&S when there’s an offer on, using my Sparks Card. I find that there’s usually a couple of offers a season, offering 20% off women’s jeans.
These jeans were also a popular choice amongst our Instagram community, with women of all different heights and sizes loving the style and fit.
4. M&S High Waisted Carrot Leg Ankle Grazer – £39.50
When I picked these up in M&S, I wasn’t expecting to like (or suit) the carrot leg ankle grazers, but I love them.
The high waist and slightly billowy style on the legs is really complimentary to most figures and I’m really pleased I gave them a try. At 39, it feels like I’m finally adding more to my wardrobe than just Mom jeans – and it feels pretty exhilarating.
5. M&S Lily Slim Fit £25.00
Another firm favourite in our Instagram DMs was the M&S Lily Slim Fit jeans. These seemed to suit most women and many said that the jeans kept a good shape. I really like these jeans and think they’d be perfect with a pair of pumps (which, Millenials, are back) in the autumn.
6. M&S Barrel Leg £30.00
Another favourite on the best jeans for women in the UK is the staple M&S Barrel Leg jean. The barrel leg, as you’ve probably guessed, is everywhere this autumn 2025 and these M&S barrel’s are the ideal, reliable staple for your wardrobe.
7. Levi’s 501s 90s Ankle Jeans £100 (currently in the sale at £75)
Next on the list for best jeans for women is the classic Levi’s 501s. These jeans come in a range of styles but our Instagram community particularly liked the 90s Ankle Jeans – clearly taking us millennials back to our glory days.
8. Abercrombie & Fitch Curve Love – £75 (currently in sale £56.99)
Next on the list of best jeans for women in 2025 are the Abercrombie & Fitch Curve Love jeans.
These were one of the most popular choices on Instagram amongst our community, with women saying that they loved the different styles of the design. Feedback was generally that the styles are great with those with smaller waists but bigger hips/thighs, as well as the Straight Jean (below) being a great general fit.
9. Levi Ribcage – £100 – 110.00
Out of all the suggestions from our community for the best jeans for women in 2025, the Levi Ribcage range has to be my favourite.
There were endless suggestions for the Ribcage styles, and I have already set notifications on both Levi and ASOS for when the Straight Ankle Style is back in stock.
Women said they loved the fact that they fitted a smaller waist and bigger thighs, while others loved the high-rise and ‘belly coverage’ post baby.
They are pretty expensive, but as we all know, Levis last.
10. H&M Wide Leg (£27.99)
If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of women’s jeans that are good on the mum tum, try the H&M wide leg jean. These are super comfortable and flattering and come in at a great price.
11. Ambela Stretch Mom Jean (£75.00)
If you’re just a millenial woman desperate for a good, solid pair of Mom jeans, then the Ambela jeans are for you. Hundreds of people from our Instagram community suggested these – so much so, I’ve even ordered a pair.
12. River Island Pyjama Style Jeans (£42.00)
I am OBSESSED by these River Island Pyjama Style Jeans and think they must be the comfiest jeans around for women this autumn. No having to unbutton the top button by lunch, these are the ideal lazy weekend jeans as the weather gets chillier.
13. Levi’s 80s Mom Jeans £100 (currently on sale for £70)
Call us millenial but we can’t move on from the Mom Jeans and these Levi’s, 80s style are just perfection. I can see these being teamed with a thick jumper and Adidas – joyous.
14. Zara Marine Jeans – £29.99
If you’re looking for a pair of slightly dressier jeans this autumn, try the Zara Marine Jeans.
Similar to the Mango jeans, these are high waisted with an ankle grazer, flared bottom. I did try these on in Zara but at 5ft 4, the style didn’t work well as the normal length was a little too long. So, if you’re of a similar height, you might want to try them on first.
As a positive, I think these jeans are a great price and a good contender for value for money in the list of best jeans for women in 2025.
15. New Look High Waist Cuff Mom Jeans – £29.99 (Currently on sale for £21.99)
I am obsessed by New Look jeans and think they fly under the radar when it comes to the best jeans for women (and best priced jeans).
I’ve been buying them for several years now, and think the price is brilliant considering the quality and durability. Although I have many styles in my wardrobe, my favourite are the High Waist Cuff Mom Jeans.
Again, these are great for winter to team with a jumper or knitted cardigan, and I find that they don’t overstretch in the day (the most irritating feeling, when you’re having to pull your trousers up all day!)
16. Stradivarius Mom Slim – £22.99
If you’re looking to creep away from skinny jeans, but still want a slim fit, the Stradivarius Mom Slim jeans are a brilliant option.
These were recommended by over 50 people on Instagram, and although I’d never considered Stradivarius jeans before, I am definitely a new fan. I think the price is great for the style and I’ve already ordered a pair to try on.
17. Topshop Jamie Jeans – £42.00 (ASOS)
I’m not sure I know a single woman who hasn’t owned a pair of Topshop Jamie jeans at some point in her life. An oldie but a goodie, Jamie jeans are my loyal companion and the high-rise style are my go-to for busy weekends with my 3-year old.
Unlike other high-rise skinny jeans, I find the Jamie jeans don’t need hoisting up every 5 minutes as they become looser over the course of the day. I can also comfortably eat a dinner in them, without having to pop open the top button.
18. Topshop Joni Jeans (£40.00)
Millenials, you might need to sit down for this but we have news. The Joni Jeans, we all thought we could leave in our past, have returned. Perhaps the least comfortable jeans ever made, the skinny Joni Jeans have returned to the relaunched Topshop online.
Proceed at your own risk.
19. Uniqlo Wide Straight Jeans – £34.90
For those looking for a baggier style, the Uniqlo Wide Straight Jeans were another popular suggestion over on Instagram. As someone with no hips and who is quite narrow, I think these might flood me, but for anyone a little taller with a waist, I think these are a great option.
20. Damson and Madder Cargo Jeans (£100.00)
The leopard print jeans are everywhere this year but my favourite are the Damson and Madder Cargo Jeans. I’ve seen so many people wearing these and have lots saved on Vinted (for half the price!)
